Productive Day

I've finally got around to starting my kitchen, and I've got to say it's coming along great, even though there is a lot of work ahead. Today I have mainly been working on the kitchen cupboards to make sure that the measurements were correct, I have also added skirting boards and a door.

Near the end of the day i started to work on a new sketch which is one of the helms from Skyrim. It's looking good so far but nowhere near finished yet.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates.

Character Ideas

Hey guys, here's some of my ideas for my character design. I have gone for more of a warrior kind of look. Most of my ideas so far have came from the armour called 'Bandos' from the game 'Runescape'. I have picked this armour because i love how the chestplate is designed and i want to use something similar in my final design.

As you can see in some of the pictures, I have also taken some ideas from the Fable and Medievil series with the armour and weapon choices.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates.

Getting the hang of 3D Max

Hey guys, as i mentioned in my last post I've been finding 3D Max really overwhelming to learn just because there's so much on screen.

To give me a better idea on how to use 3D Max, I thought I would look at some tutorials on Youtube. After going through some tutorials I came across this video which taught me how to make a simple room on 3D Max. I found this video to be really helpful and it gave me a better idea on how to use the software.

The Outcome

I know this looks really simple but that's the idea. This was just a test for myself to see if i could do it. I think i might even carry on with this project by adding a roof, textures and even some extra rooms.

As you can see in the first picture i made a blue box to represent a person who's about 6ft tall. This gave me a better idea on how high the walls and the door would be.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates.

The beginning of 3D

Last week I started to use 3D Max to create a cardboard box, I found 3D Max to be pretty difficult to use due to the fact that i've never used this software before. Even though I struggled with this exercise i would say the outcome was quite good.

That's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates.

A late first entry to University

Sorry about this being late but l'll give this a go. I can say that I haven't done anything like this before due to the fact that I'm not much of a writer but I can say I'm am really looking forward to writing about my progress throughout my GameArt degree.

I've been on the course for about two weeks now and I'm really enjoying it, the modules seem really interesting yet pretty challenging. My favourite aspect of the course is learning about 3D Max, as well as expanding my knowledge with my drawing skills.

On the first few days of the course I was feeling incredibly anxious about starting something new, now that I am settled in I feel that this is the right course for me and can see myself having a career in this field.

When I was first introduced to 3D Max I was overwhelmed, as there is so much to learn and take in but I look forward to gaining more knowledge and creating new skills for myself.

For one of my modules we're creating a room in 3D Max, my room idea is to make a police investigation murder scene in the kitchen.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates.
