Modelling the Sink

I'm now coming to the end of modelling my kitchen. The one part of the kitchen I was avoiding was the sink because I thought it was going to be difficult to model. I wasn't sure on how to model the sink and tap so I followed this guide.

Once I started to model the sink I found it pretty easy without any problems. I wish i could say the same for the tap but I came into a few modelling problems but in the end I think it turned out pretty well.

Once I was finished I added a light metal texture to the sink and tap, I think the outcome came out pretty well.

Today I also fixed the floor by the doors.

I'm nearly done with my kitchen now, all I need to do now is modelling some door handles and add a roof with lights and then its just sorting out the lighting and i'll be done!

Well that's it for now, I should have some more updates this week.

Modelling Progress

Hey guys, the past two weeks I have been very productive. In the first week i got most of the texturing out the way. Some changes were also made, one of the counters has been removed and the original story for the kitchen has been changed. The original story was that the kitchen was going to be a murder scene, as you can see on the door I added some planes which was going to be police tape. Sadly this idea has been scrapped due to not having enough time. The new story behind the kitchen is going to be a simple family meal, I have done this change so i can focus more on assists etc.

Once I finished texturing the counter tops and the cupboards I started to add some assets to the room like chairs, a table and a pizza box, which all have a part in the story of the kitchen.

I also textured the fridge which I did have some trouble with but it came out great. Once I finished my fridge I modelled some handles for the cupboards and the fridge doors and finally in the first week I started to texture the oven.

In the weekend I have been working on my oven and I've gotta say it was looking great but I was having trouble with the top so today I got that sorted with abit of help. Even though my oven isn't finished yet, it's looking great.

Anyways today I have been busy adding some extra assets in the kitchen. To start the day off I worked on my oven but I'm having trouble with some of the texturing at the front so I should have that sorted at a later date.

I also worked on some plugs and a light switch today, I will show them off in the next post.

Later on in the day i worked on a toaster, at the moment it looks really basic but I will be working on that this week. I also worked on some plates to give the viewer a better idea about the story of the kitchen.

Finally I started to work on the window, now this looks really basic aswell but this is also something I will be working on this week so stay tuned.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates

My Sketching Progress From Last Week

Hey guys, sorry for the late post but here it is.

Last week was a pretty busy week for me when it came to sketching. I got a lot done and it gave me a better idea on what i wanted to do for my character design.

About two weeks ago I added a post called 'Productive Day'. At the end of the post I mentioned a sketch that I was working on which was a helmet from the Skyrim series. About a week ago I finally got round to finishing the sketch and i've got to say it looks really good and I may even use it in my final design.

Once I finished my Skyrim helmet sketch I started to think about some ideas I could use in my final character design so far I've used the Skyrim helm with the bandos armour from Runescape. I'm really happy in the way this sketch has turned out, the only problem I had with this sketch was getting the hands right which I'll add at a later date.

In my recent sketch I had trouble getting the hands right so I spent a few hours practicing how to draw hands. I did have trouble with this but some of my sketches turned out great so hopefully i'll have my character design sketch finished soon.

Throughout the week I also worked on an amulet, armour and some weapon designs.

Anyways sorry about the late post guys but thats everything for now. I should have a new modelling post coming out this week so keep checking as i will be posting regular updates.

My Progress This Week (Modelling)

Hey guys, this week I have finally started to texture my kitchen, on Monday my main focus was to add textures to the walls, skirting boards and the coving. When I finished texturing I made a basic window which I'll be working on at a later date.

I actually got a lot of work done today, well with abit of help. To start off I added some doors to my kitchen. I textured them and I even got started on modelling the back door. Once I was happy with the foots i started to model some of the cupboards by adding some counter tops and modelling them into the correct shape. Once I finished modelling my cupboards I started the texturing which is a work in progress so i shall keep you updated on that very soon.

I was going to add a floor texture to my room yesterday but I didn't have the time so I finally got it out the way today by adding a simple wooden floor.

Well that's it for now, be sure to keep checking as I will be posting regular updates
