Last year I written a document about three companies I would love to work for once I finish my degree in GameArt. I thought now would be a good time for me to share it with you guys.
Jagex
I’m really interested with working with Jagex on their game ‘Runescape’. I would love to work on some concepts ideas and have some of my work implemented in game. I would also like to work on some of the characters models and environments. I have been playing Runescape for about 10 years now so this would be a dream come true to work on one of my favourite games of all time.
Naughty Dog
Naughty Dog is one of my favourite gaming companies of all time just due to the fact that they made the Crash bandicoot series which was and still is one of my favourite series. Even though Naughty Dog don’t own the rights to Crash bandicoot anymore they have made so great games after it such as Jak and Daxter, the Uncharted games and there most recent ‘The Last of Us’. I would love to work on some of the character designs on some of Naughty Dogs games like Jak and Daxter because my type of drawing style would fit into those games really well just like it would with the Crash Bandicoot series.
Insomniac Games
Just like Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games is one of my favourite gaming companies of all time this is mainly because of the Spyro series, this is a series I still go back to now and then. Just like Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games no longer own the Spyro series which is a real shame but they do more other great games like Ratchet and Clank. I would love to work for a company like Insomniac games because they make high quality games with great storylines and graphics. I would love to do some concept art or some of the 3D character models for the Ratchet and Clank series; I think my drawing style would fit into these games really well.
I'm thinking about posting another blog entry on here very soon about video games being considered as art so make sure you check that out once its posted. Also I will be posting another entry in the next couple of days on this weeks updates on what I'm working on in college.
Well that's everything for now.
Thanks for reading,
Daniel Bibby
